HISTORY
OF AMERICAS-BEST-PSYCHICS

|
The story of America's Best Psychics goes back to the late 1960's.Marlene and her husband Rev. Jim began attending a psychic development school in Oak Park, run by "Mister
Psychic" himself, Clifford Royse. They searched out other groups in Chicago and psychic seminars throughout the country, learning what they could. After several years of study, learning palmistry, astrology, tarot, and mediumship, Jim and Marlena began their work reading with a popular group conducting psychic events in the Chicagoland area. There they met and networked with such well-known Psychics as Joseph DeLouise, Alexandria East, Camille, Amazing Leonard, Irene Hughes, and Eleanor Royse, to name a few. Jim gave candle readings. A 3x5 card was passed over the candle flame to produce a pattern of smoke residue. He then interpreted the patterns. Marlene became proficient in palmistry, acing all her courses, but felt there was a better connection for her. She began using her son's colorful tumbled rocks. She became known as Marlena, the Rock Lady.

They invited their psychic friends to work with them. This group of 12-15 Psychics worked together for close to 15 years, traveling 40 weekends each year throughout this tri-state area. Irene Hughes was featured on Saturday, Joe DeLouise headlined on Sunday. After Rev. Jim's death on December 21, 1992, the fairs continued under Marlena's leadership with the help of her daughters, Gwen and Melody. Daughter #2, Melody Joy began reading with J&M's group in January 1985. She received further training in meditation and clairvoyance by Eleanor Royse, acclaimed medium and teacher. After the death of Marlena, the Rock Lady, April 5, 2006,
Melody decided to continue in the tradition of the family business, and
spirit of the work. |
